HMEL's Bhatinda refinery is one of India's largest private-sector oil refineries, with approximately 90,000 employees and contractors, 450+ hardware points, and security obligations spanning OISD contractor management, PESO hazardous-zone access, CEA electrical-area restrictions, emergency mustering, vehicle gate control, visitor management and integration with Active Directory, PLMS, CCTV and mobile applications. No existing system at the site addressed more than one of these requirements, and there was no unified security audit trail.
Security Shells Infotech designed and deployed a comprehensive HID integrated solution across the entire HMEL Bhatinda complex. HID Aero X1100 controllers were installed at all zone entry points, personnel gates and administrative areas. IDEMIA biometric readers provide dual-factor authentication for process and hazardous zones. iTrace manages visitors, CLMS manages the large contractor workforce, and Intozi ANPR controls vehicle entry at main gates with boom-barrier integration. The LTTS Fusion platform integration connects plant operations data, while the custom HMEL mobile app integration gives supervisors mobile access to attendance and occupancy data.
